What reason is there to keep Lenora di Genova connected as daughter of Lorenzo de' Medici, il Vecchio
Serious family researchers cannot find her (see notes below).
Also, are the dates screwy?

Yes, I am aware of this. One branch of my family is descended from Jacopo di Genova and Leonora de Medici, and they are included in the family history prepared by my father over a period of 40 years. The document to which you are referring is available in both the Virginia State Library and (in extracts) at the University of Virginia Library. At one time, notes on Jacopo were also available at http://www.mindspring.com/~arturo/gannaway.htm, but when I just went to check that link it was no longer active.
I don't have anything anything further back. The Lorenzo mentioned earlier in this chain ("The Elder") was born in 1395, but both Jacopo and Leonora were born in Florence in 1544, with Ricardo (as you know) being born in 1564; I'm trying to source the disconnect. She would have been the daughter of someone from a later generation than Lorenzo the Magnificent.
here's 'something' but from the 1700s:

Written by M. Gannaway in the 1700s
........................... (copy on file in the Virginia State Library)
According to the BBC Guide to Pronunciations, GANNAWAY means "Native of Genoa". The Gannaway Ancestry identifies the Gannaways as a minor branch of the de Medici family.
Jacopo di Genoa b 1544 m. Leonora di Medici b 1544 of Florence - I use Jacopo di Genoa here as it agrees more with Gannaway native of Genoa, and also we need a seaman/merchant to get to England and the US. Some list Jacopo di Medici. (I'll change it if anyone has good evidence).
Ricardo di Genova b 1564 m. Donna Cid-Ruy-Diaz from Villa Moros Spain
Giovanni di Genova m. Margarita Maroni Campolo Venizia (Giovanni changed his name to John Genoway
John Gannaway m. Lucy Hensingham
Robert m. Sally Paget (Page?)
Edward m. Hilda Van Campen
Marmaduke m Henrietta Campmartin (of Toulouse France, but possibly also the Netherlands).
John Gannaway of Bath b 1680, England m Zaida Larriategui b 1687 of Villa de Moros
Continued in Spain
(I am very suspicious of Bath, lets leave it there for now).
