Orderic Vitalis names “Bernardum patrem Gualterii de Sancto-Gualerico et Ricardum de Huglevilla” as the sons of “Gulbertus cognomento advocatus de Sancto Gualerico” and his wife “filiam Ricardi ducis”, adding that “Ricardus” fought for “duci Normanniæ [Richard [II]?] avunculo...suo” who arranged his marriage to “nobilem Adam, Herluini senis de Huglevilla relictam, cum toto patrimonio eius”[1129]. Orderic Vitalis records that “Ricardum de Huglevilla” built “super Sedam in vico qui olim Isnellivilla...burgum...Alfagium” [Auffay] and that “tempore Guillelmi juvenis, filii Rodberti ducis” Richard held out against “Guillelmus de Archis” and his rebels “in castello suo secus ecclesiam Sancti-Albini”, dated to [1054][1130].
