I'm tracing an Ancestry ThruLines DNA cousin's lines and the trees on Ancestry at this point have the parents of this Marmaduke as John Daniel and Ann Wright, not the parents connected here on Geni.
So I was pulling up the links posted in the About section of this proile, and interestingly, this link
https://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/daniel/1745/
also lists John Daniel and Ann Wright as his parents:

Debbie,
I believe you may be correct in that Marmaduke appears to be the grandfather, not father, of this Marmaduke. I’ve seen 4 attempts at merges of Marmaduke 1702 with Marmaduke 1766 we are unscrambling now.
On another issue, the birthdate range of between 1740 and 1758 seems to provide the range necessary for this Marmaduke to have had his first child in 1787.

We’ve decided at this time to remove Marmaduke from all parents until we find proof. Now we start Marmaduke with his in accordance with Emmett Starr’s history.
Erica had identified that the new connections I made descended from a connection to Governor Robert Daniel which had previously been debunked. And some of the information above you provided doesn’t work out chronologically, this Dr. Pritchett may have been in error…
