Hello-
I am getting desperate as the years pass and I try to find Gilman ancestors in New Hampshire.
My Great-Greatr Grandfather, John T. Gilman married Melinda W. Adams, 1 December 1830 in Wilton, Franklin, Maine. He lived there until his death, I assume. No burial for him or his wife Melinda. His second wife, Mary Frances George is buried in the New Sharon, Franklin, Maine cemetery.
No known relative have any Gilman information..
I am on all DNA sites.
My deceased aunt Leona Gilman is kit DJ2482650 on Gedmatch.
My 2nd cousin, Daniel Gilamam is kit T166240 on Gedmatch.
Thanks for your consideration.
Sincerely,

Just for starters I think I see a problem with the second sentence. The Geni profile for Melinda Washburn Gilman (Adams) 1806-1869 is in the link above. She IS the wife of Captain John Taylor Gilman. In the subject line you state the following .....
Subject:GILMAN, JOHN T. (not Dr. John Taylor Gilman!) b.1806 N.H.
So, according to my calculations - Melinda W. Adams is the wrong wife for your John T Gilman.
Strike her out. The marriage certificate id for the other guy.
I will keep looking as time allows Del.
Dear Ann,
Thanks for your thoughtful reply.
I am sure I have the correct Melinda W. Adams who married my Great-great grandfather, John T. Gilman on 1 December 1830 in Wilton, Franklin, Maine.
My John T. Gilman was listed as a Pauper in the 1860 census, so, obviously someone has added the incorrect John T. Gilman to the profile. I made 3 trips to Maine and New Hampshire for my Gilman quest and exhausted every resource that I could locate as an old reference librarian.
Sincerely,
Del
