Erica Howton, please help?
Colonel William West Whitehead, Sr. and Colonel William West Whitehead, Sr. are NOT the same and comes in as both being husband because of a merge.
These are two different men and apparently two different women.
Both men are showing as sons of my 7th great grands which you have curated Arthur Whitehead, Jr. and Mary Whitehead
Mary Rachel Whitehead Wife of William whitehead

No such person as Edward Whitehead.

Arthur Whitehead Jr. (Arthur1)was born about 1650 in the Isle of Wight, Virginia where he lived until his death about 1710. He married Mary Godwin (Abt 1670), daughter of William Godwin and Elizabeth Wright.
They had four children:
After the death of his wife Mary, Arthur Jr. married ? Purcell, daughter of Arthur Purcell. Research has not turned up any children by this union.
There is indication that Arthur Jr. was a cooper, a maker of barrels. He was also reputed to have been illiterate and sign all documents with an "X". A man by the name ofJohn Scott Davenport wrote "Arthur's sons were illerite, he was illerite....He married upwards".7

Thank you so so much for the clean up and the MP flag, Erica Howton
I disconnected my 6th great grandmother Isabella Purcell from him and made the request to merge her with the curated profile. Added a marriage link from Geni to Rachel. Looking to see if there are any other issues but thank you. Looks good so far to me.
Private User have you had a chance to review?
Re the marriage record. “William Whitehead in the U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900.”
Reminder that it’s not a reliable collection.
I wouldn’t disconnect Peggy Lewis without more research, it could be the origin of the spurious Lewis surname for Rachel. Add notes to profile instead.
