Sadly, Methuen VR deaths is not clear about the age of "(Bodwell) Elizabeth, w. Capt. John, June 26, 1785."

From http://magenweb.org/Essex/Methuen/Marriages_1730-1788.html, there are two distinct people named Elizabeth Messer. One married John Bodwell on Dec 22 1748. The other married Benjamin Marston on Apr 20 1756.

Methuen VR births has two Elizabeth Messer births - one - "Elisebath, d. Thomas and Jane, Nov. 11, 1730."; the other - EIizebath, d. Nathaniell and Elizebath, Mar. 31, 1732." They are first cousins - Thomas & Nathaniel are brothers.

I believe that https://mhl.org/sites/default/files/files/Abbott/Messer%20Family.pdf (pages 3 & 4) has the two women confused.

https://ancestors.familysearch.org/en/LZGQ-9X9/elizabeth-messer-173... has the daughter of Thomas and Jane as the wife of John Bodwell.

Any help to determine which Elizabeth Messer married John Bodwell would be appreciated.

Thomas Messer is the father of Elizabeth (1730). She is not yet loaded to Geni.

Benjamin Marston is the groom of the 1756 marriage.

John Bodwell is the groom of the 1748 marriage.

Emily Kent Marget Hi, I just saw this in my feed. I notice that this John Bodwell profile is linked to:
parents: Capt Daniel Bodwell (1693-1783) and Elizabeth Parker
grandparents: Henry Bodwell (1653-1745) and Bethiah Emery
great-grandparents: Henry Bodwell I (1615-1656) and Mary Tarbell.

I happen to find this document from the Andover Library you should check out.
I uploaded it to my profile Media tab because I didn't want to upload to his profile if wrong.
https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000180776868905&...

you can contact the library as maybe they know the sources. It sounds like someone had access to some Family Bibles.
Library website is:
mhl.org
and the doc is on the internet in pdf.
https://www.mhl.org/sites/default/files/files/Abbott/Bodwell%20Fami...

on page 7 and 11, it says that
Capt. John Bodwell b. Methuen 12/17/1723 m. 1st Elizabeth Messer on 12/22/1748. She was born 3/31/1732 (d.o. Nathan Messer and Elizabeth Gutterson) and she died 6/26/1785. They had 12 children between 1749 and 1775.
THEN
he married Elizabeth Bowers of Merrimac on 4/26/1788

Capt John was the son of "David" Bodwell and Elizabeth Parker (he was the 4th of 9 children). Elizabeth's father ran a ferry. But I think the father David on p. 7 is a typo, because on p. 11 is says Dan and on pg 6 David is crossed out and Daniel written in, and on p 4 there is only a son Daniel.

father Capt Daniel/David (b. in Andover 2/14/1693) m 1. Elizabeth Parker and 2nd Ruth Ingalls.

grandfather Henry Bodwell (b, 1654-4 d. 6/1745) m. Bethia Emery.

the grandfather Henry had a birth date of 1651 to 54 in the text

Dean Richard Hobart - I am well-acquainted with the .pdf genealogies of various Andover families. They were all written by the same person. Unfortunately, she does not post her sources. I tend to use them as a verification of Andover VR.

The problem remains that there is Elizabeth (1730) and Elizabeth (1732) who are first cousins. One married John Bodwell, had 12 children and died in 1785. The other married Benjamin Marston, had children, moved to Sutton, NH in January 1776 and died soon after with Benjamin and one of their children.

I was thinking you had this in your questions.
Sadly, Methuen VR deaths is not clear about the age of "(Bodwell) Elizabeth, w. Capt. John, June 26, 1785."

That pdf has a birth date, which would give the age. What did the library say about how reliable those pdfs?
