Matthias received his final Revolutionary War Pension payment in the 4th quarter of 1846. The date on the grave marker is incorrect. It was assumed as the last document with Matthias name on it was 1840 census. I found the voucher out of the pay master office in Knoxville Tennessee. No way of knowing if he died before or after his November birthday.
