I'm trying to trace Martha Lascelles, born about 1805 and married William Stepney (although the certificate reads like Hepney)
I'm unable to find a birth cert for her or to which family she belongs. William was a free convict at the time in VDL or Tasmania Australia as it is now. She may have been shunned by the family for marrying a convict, not sure.
She may have come from a wealthy family, but not sure if she was born England or Tasmania/Australia.
Can anyone help please.
