Are there any Ingmire males anywhere who have taken a Y-chromosome test, or who are willing to take one?
I believe that I have independent thrulines autosomal matches with 3 of William Ingmire (Born Cottingham 1768-1849 Margate Kent) = Mary Pratt's 5 sons. (Ancestry.com)
There was also a fourth autosomal match to William Ingmire's youngest sister Elizabeth Jackson Ingmire (c.1780) which I think means that the DNA is 'good' back to certainly one and hopefully both (!) of their parents John Ingmire (1724-1781) = Rebecca Jackson (1737-1790).
It would be great to see how far back we can take the line. The only Y-matches that I have at present are up to 1223 YBP (years before present) so a bit too old to be useful in isolation.
