I was working on these lines in my tree. They're distant cousin lines for me, so I'm not familiar. They showed up in some DNA matches for my half-sister on her paternal side.
Anyway, I found this document on Ancestry (which I've attached under the Media tab) and it states:
Register of North Farnham Parish Church, Va
Shows marriage of Parmenus Palmer and Mary Ann Draper, 30 March 1741. Shows Parmenas and Prudence son and daughter of Robert and Martha Palmer, born 27 May 1719. Parmenus and Prudence were twins.
ljohnsto originally shared this on 28 Apr 2017
Notice that it states that Prudence is the twin sister of Parmenas and their mother was Martha Palmer, not Prudence Jeffery.
There aren't any notes in Parmenus' About section to shed any light on his parentage, but the above is from their Parish church records and plainly states their mother was Martha Palmer.
Looking at Ancestry trees, I am seeing ones with Martha (Freeman) Palmer as Parmenus' mother, which matches the info on the Parish records.
If this is correct, then he is connected to the wrong mother and Martha Freeman wasn't his wife but his mother.
I only found info of him being married to Mary Ann Draper. That seems to be well-documented. Also, if you notice, Martha Freeman was born 03 APR 1698, which makes her a good age to be the mother of Parmenus but would make her 21 years older than him as his wife, which is unlikely.
Any assistance in validating / correcting the connections would be appreciated.
Thank you.
