Geni is collaborative. You can click Add Family and then add N.N. as the father to your profile and say within the About section why you disconnected. Choose the correct parent from the relationships tab. Since you will be back, that would be the step to take. Check the Revisions Tab to see what anyone does to a profile, as it is public. It is not a private tree space, it's a collaborative data base space.
