There is little known about Peyton's first wife, Margret Martha Mhoon, and there is no clear date of death. However, I know her last child was born in 1851, This is confirmed by Thomas' death certificate which list Margaret M Mahoon as mother. The family story is Margaret died about 1854.

Now we have Peyton, a widower, with a number of young children and an 18 year old new wife Frances Elizabeth Underwood.

Francis Elizabeth and Peyton had 10 children together. Green D,, Candis Lilla, Peyton Marion Jr., Richard Ammette, John M,, Sampson John, Texanna, Elizabeth, Oliver Gude, and William Newton.
