His About section states his parents were:

Born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, on January 30, 1780, Israel was the son of Capt. Samuel Pickens, a veteran of the American Revolution, and Jane Carrigan Pickens.

Eleanor Pickens (Kirkpatrick) isn't mentioned as his mother, so unless she can be documented as such, she seems to be connected in error.
