There are legal documents showing that Anna Davis, daughter of David and Jemima Davis, buried in Union Cemetery, Plainfield, located in Moodus, CT., was the wife of John Shepard. Their two sons were, Henry, b. 1800 and George,b. 1801. In the Alumni record for Amherst College, Class of 1824, the parnts of George Shepard are listed as John and Anna (Davis) Shepard. There are other references to this relationship in legal documents .
There is no mention of a son named Calvin Shepard, b. 1799.
A librarian checked all 3 volumes of The Shepard Families of New England. No Jane Shepard or Calvin Shepard, wife and son of John Shepard, of these dates and place.
