I just noticed that the mother listed in the About section has been changed, which changes my connections to this line. The About section says:

Rebecca Elizabeth (Powell, adopted Hornbuckle) Page was born in March 1700 in Isle of Wight, Virginia. Her parents were John Powell, Sr., Old Cheraw Holden's Beach and Miriam Powell. And what about all the DNA evidence in the notes that went into proving the connections as they were before the recent changes?

If the connections change, notes should be put in the About section explaining the changes, otherwise the notes don't match the connections and no one but the person who made the changes knows why everything changed.

She was adopted by Hornbuckles per Marie Britt. Her parents could be any of the above. We don't have adoption papers. We have atDna that matches to the Smith cousins from Miriam. We have no Hornbuckles trading kits. The best choice of parents is to stick with Miriam as the mother. Will make that change.

Thanks, David. Yeah, all the DNA information supported the Smith connection, so I was wondering what happened that caused the change.

I'm trying to keep my tree correct, but it so often now when I'm tracing a line on Geni, I run into the fact that my ancestors have been changed. I know work is always ongoing to make necessary corrections, and I appreciate that...but the notes in the About section don't always reflect the changes or explain why the change.

You know me, when the tree is uncertain, I trust the DNA matches and all that research you've done in so many prior years.

She is my 10th GGM so I'm very interested 💓
