Margaret Towneley

She cannot be the daughter of her father because she was born before him but its locked so he cant be removed

Careful in making that assumption - how do you know dates aren’t wrong? Or she isn’t with the wrong mother?

The inconsistency says:

Margaret (Hartley) Towneley should be born after her parent Joan (Neville) Hartley
Tip: Correct the birth date of Margaret (Hartley) Towneley (born 1545) or Joan (Neville) Hartley (born circa 1554).

The profile about says:

Lawrence Towneley, Gent. was born circa 1554 at of Barnside & Blacko, Lancashire, England. He married Margaret Hartley, daughter of John Hartley, Gent., circa 1575 at of Stone Edge, Colne, …

And now I see that it looks like she’s in the wrong generation.

John Hartley

John Hartley
Gender: Male
Birth: 1550
Stone Edge, Coln, Lancashire, England (United Kingdom)
Death: 1578 (27-28)
England
Immediate Family:
Son of Roger (John) Hartley and Genet (Sutcliffe) Hartley
Husband of Joan (Neville) Hartley and Margaret Smithe

So need to find a good reference.

I had sourced this years ago, don’t recall which “John Hartley” she had been attached to.

It’s either this or no one at this point, welcome more research.

ok, maybe you can make a look at the claim i made on Mary Jones. Carol said I cant add John D. PAss as a husband because I just got on here and I cant be merging people..lol. I was like what. All I did was add a husband. Now there were two Mary Jones..same lady that were both locked..and they are claiming the same woman and I did ask you to merge her and I think you did. So I asked you to do it and you must have agree. But she said I couldnt add my family. This is a lady that I looked for and found 45 years after I started doing DNA, she is the reason my tree is so big. I figured the only way I could figure her out is to see the DNA matches that I couldnt link up to me. She was just a GGGrandmother so I figure I share quite a bit of DNA still and should have many matches in her line. Before I found her. I knew she was in Caswell Co., North Carolina. She could be from Virginia because this area is right on the border. I lived there so I know. I know what town my guy lived in and it was Milton. I was shared with that he left his family in NC. So he comes to NC with another lady named Delaney Merritt. I dont share any DNA with her at all and she did have other children with him . She was too young to be my guy's mother as I recall. So My John D, Pass has 4 children and I dont know who the mother is. I have thought it could be several people but Id always have to remove them because I just didnt see any evidence. BUT from the matches I believed that she was in South CArolina later because I kept getting trees that I could not link to for people in SC. Well I dont have family there much. And the families that I didnt have anywhere else in my tree was REED/REID./READ ..Dukes were in my tree but way further back considering the amount of matches I was getting and I am sure there were more people ...Maybe Martin was one of them. Now I figure I was already related to her because no one stood out, So one day I was looking at a tree and there is this Mary Jones in Caswell Co. that had moved to South CArolina and remarried. So I should share DNA with those kids. Remember she is not that distant. ISo I research her tree pretty much and this lady in SC fit perfectly in my tree. She made sense for all the people I knew I had to be related to but I just couldnt figure it out. So I sent you the screen shot and as you can see in that last generation, I have found matches to 11 of the generations. That is enought for me to believe she is the secret woman, And of course her name is Mary Jones. Thats so common and I was already linked to jones so she was already in my tree,,just too far back and because I think she was in my tree for who she was married to. Anyway, Also my tree is full, there werent many places for that family to go. But I also found the wife of Nimrod Shepherd the same way. My tree was so full and I kept sharing DNA with the CREEKMORE family. So I decided to list her as unknown daughter of Creekmore and then add that man that I kept linking up to all his kids. All of them. No one knew that. It was only a educated guess. And now on here...someone has even given her a name. So I am going with that. I looked at it and it made sense. So I told Carol and said I found that the same way, are ya gonna take that off too. I think I have another person i figured out theu DNA matches but I cant remember who it is. IMy family is in different parts of the country. One family from NY/Canada, in family in Whitley Co., KY area and then Perry's in North FL and SC and PASSes went all over, Stephens family moved towards Texas. Ware family started out in CASWELL CO NC with the PAss and Moore and Bryant families and moved to Georgia, then some went towards Texas. Then my stovall family is in middle Georgia etc. So I HAve an idea of what to look out for. I found someone agreed with me on familysearch also...and that was the first thing I sent you I think. I just couldnt believe she wouldnt let me add a spouse just because no one knew about her. She has to have parents somewhere. Id just like my family to link to the other people but its like the shape this country is in right now, theres not much I can do about it. Susan
