Someone please post information on Sarah Crowninshield. Why is she listed as Joseph Harwood IV's wife? Is there documentation? From Family Search:
"When Sarah Crowninshield was born on 24 July 1741, in Providence, Providence, Rhode Island, United States, her father, Richard Crowninshield, was 32 and her mother, Elizabeth Day, was 37. She married Joseph Harwood Jr. on 31 July 1783, in Sutton, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son."
What was Joseph Harwood of Virginia doing in MA? Why is the above Joseph Harwood a junior and not a IV? There are Harwoods all over the east during the 1700's. What makes this particular Joseph a son of Joseph Harwood III (husband of Sarah Myrick)?
