I changed the name as at least three of the sites I checked (e.g. the Clan MacFarlane genealogy database, and the peerage website) record Andrew MacFarlane's wife as the "unknown daughter of Dougal Campbell and Janet Graham" or do not list any information regarding Andrew's spouse (Stirnet.com).

Over to you if you want to change it back or make comment in the bio section that she may have been known as Margaret.

Okay, I see what you mean, I checked on clan MacFarlane genealogy and she is listed as NN. When I first came here I saw her name listed as Margaret, but on the other hand, it will be best to have this woman listed as NN until there's more information on her. Cheers

Had you put a comment of explanation in her Overview or created a Public Discussion from her where you gave the info, that would have been helpful. Laurie Vieau (MacFarlane) - that is information from somebody's family tree.
A family tree should never be considered a source - people can put whatever they want in their family trees. There are probably very few that are purposely wrong, but many, many with errors. If a family tree has records attached to it, those can be helpful. The information on the tree should just be taken as a hint.

I was referring to Laurie's first post referring to Ancestry. But I think her second reference is also to a family tree

Starting with great grandfather works. Other, still error.

Okay I'm going to have to start on the tree and see if I can get up to my 11th great grandfather, and see what's going on.
