It is a certainty he is a blood relative. I have confirmed native blood and direct relationship with his family and children also His mothers family the McQueen's and Coppingers

This site, as well as Ancestry.com and several others claim, with no uncertainty, that Osceola Billy Powell is my 5th great grandfather. But I am extremely white. I'm not saying that the sites are wrong. Even the older members of my family say they knew about this. But my mother had no idea. How can something so unusual be almost a secret in a family? No one ever mentioned this before I asked about it.

My name is Brett Robinson (Nix). I am a great grandson of Herbert "Hubby" Nix and Dora Nix. The family story is that we are direct descendants of Osceola but even the historians don't know for sure his lineage. What I'm reading on this thread seems to make it a little more clear. Can anyone confirm that further? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
