Martin"Martain" Rash is showing as son of Luke Rash, Sr. and Mary Rash(born Terrell)

Martin"Martain" Rash son of William W. Rash, Sr.

Likely several bad merges between them all

Private User I wish I knew! I have looked and looked to see where an extreme error would have been merged in. I think is good to work from the bottom up and compare the children but even the children have little to go by.
I found Tabitha listed as Bartha on one of the Findagrave's as a note but did not have enough to go on so I thought would be best to take the inbox to the Discussion tab on the profile

Hopefully enough people who are able to help can weigh in

Nancy Miller Thompson Smith's book seems to be written with more of a convenient easier way to build family from pulling people with already researched parentage, this writing that she has published has multiple errors that are stated as though they are facts. They are not facts, all she has published is a place of beginning to research for sources of facts. I have some previous researchers, resourced notes of this Rash family. I don't know it all, i may know more than others cause i have done alot of research with alot of help from others who have researched these already. There is a way to share knowledge of family connections. I have worked genealogy for many years, with some of the best in the business. I share my knowledge of what i know, and others twist the facts to what they think it should be. Kind of makes me want to just quit.
Sometimes...

Private User don't "quit"... :)

Beginning to slowly, look better, now. Whenever i think like that i gotta let it go for a couple days. Data changes, on here, all the time. :D

Indeed. But the ancestors don't so we need to give them enough info that they do not get confused for others by folks just trying to build a tree.
See you tomorrow!
I will try to revisit the line soon

All research here is very well. The only wrong subject is Clurg Pritchard marrying Martha Ellen Rash. Nancy Miller Thompson Smith's research is wrong here. Family fact the family members being questioned by "researchers", irritated the McClendon family. They gave Nancy Miller Thompson Smith and her researchers bogus, fake, false information per "James" McClendon told them to tell them his name was McClurg Pritchard. He is not surnamed Pritchard. Nancy Miller Thompson Smith and her researchers were told false information on purpose. "James" McClendon as well as his wife Martha Ellen Rash McClendon and their descendants were really aggravated by the questioning of family by people who are not family.

Overlooking previously researched by Nancy, that is the first major error i have seen in her findings. I have not studied or looked at indirect lineages other than the ones that relate close to my lineage. I have not studied where she, Nancy Miller Thompson Smith, nor any living person relates to these ancestors.
Back to R.T. Rash-parents, him being born various years given depending on whose research you want to believe between the years 1846 and 1848, in Buncombe County, North Carolina. In those years, there are probably several members of the Rash family old enough to be his father.

R.T. Rash parentage, previous research shows that him and other family members of this Rash and related to this Rash family have shown his father to only be called Martin and Martain Rash, who was born around 1810 So, research goes to his mother, who may have married a Rash 15-20 years before R.T. was born. Research shows, Martain or Martin Rash born 1809 Iredell County, married Nancy Lucinda"Cinda" Lunsford Rash, born before 1812, per Lunsford family research and several authors of family genealogy. Research shows they were married about 1840, Lunsford family research would have the precise, correct marriage date, since all my researched data has been changed since i cannot put locks on anything i put in here, anyone can change it, as they have. Here we are genealogy 2022.

With data, information and sources from family researchers related by marriage into this Rash line. It can be determined that Nancy Lucinda"Cinda" Lunsford Rash born before 1812 married Martin"Martain" Rash born 1809. R.T. Rash, Robert Taylor Rash has numerous sources of establishing his brothers who went west before him.

So, if he has siblings born before him, he was not the first born child. Established 3 or more siblings born before him. If marrying ages are about 20 years of age they would be married between 1832 and 1834. Lunsford research and others say before 1840.
