Greetings!
I've been researching Quaker Nicholas Davis, who died by drowning in Newport, RI harbor on 24 Jul 1672, for over 25 years, and I will soon be publishing a comprehensive biography about his life.
May I ask the managers to replace his death information with the date I've provided here?
Also, he was not born in Horsmonden. His birthplace is still in question: If he was a son of Dolor Davis, then I have his baptism date and place recorded in my newly released Dolor Davis research article at: https://books.google.com/books?id=IpBDEAAAQBAJ&newbks=0&hl=....
If he was not the son of Dolor Davis, then his birthplace, birthdate, and his parentage are unknown. His first verifiable is in Barnstable in 1651.
So, for the time being, it would be advisable to put "unknown" in the birth and parentage information.
His wife was Sarah (Ewer) Blossom Davis Clarke Walley. Sarah married twice after Nicholas died to Dr. John Clarke of Newport, and then to Rev. Walley of Barnstable. She was first married to Thomas Blossom.
His children were: Samuel, Hannah, Simon, Sarah, Thomas and Mercy.
Thank you!
Dr. Frank "Mike" Davis
