A great resource for the historical property once owned by Thomas Jefferson, inherited by Colonel Bennett Goode is located at the now "Foundry Golf Club" in Powhatan, Virginia.

The Foundry is the location of private ruins of an old cemetery owned by the Turpin Family, a Jefferson family. The property is gorgeous, with a beautiful creek once settled and used by those Colonial Families.

I have previously encouraged them to allow an archeological excavation on the back of the property that would be most intriguing for the history of the Jefferson lines. There are ruins of previous buildings as well as buildings that still exist, absolutely awesome.

Online, www.FoundryGolfClub.com

Click on their history, they have a detailed account of the historical property.

The Turpin Cemetery has a great history.

The Foundry also has an awesome Facebook page that has many gorgeous photos of the property, buildings and creek once owned by those Jefferson Families. I'm trying to further encourage them to do an archeological excavation.
