Parents: The latest research into Anne Cocke, wife of Robert Bolling, shows that her parents were Thomas Cocke and his wife Elizabeth Mason, not Richard "the younger" Cocke[1] and his wife Elizabeth (the second or third wife of Richard, whose maiden name is not known). Neither should she be confused with Ann (Bowler) Cocke, wife of Richard's older brother (also named Richard).

Also has too many children.

These look like the correct ones:

Robert Bolling, the 2nd, was the oldest son of Robert Bolling and Anne Stith. He was born January 25, 1682/3 and died in 1749. He was a surveyor in Charles City county in 1714 and a Justice of the Peace, and Burgess in 1723, 1726 and 1730.

He married January 27, 1706 to Anne Cocke.

Martha Cocke Bolling, m. Richard Eppes, Burgess from Chesterfield. [4]

Correction: Mason Bolling is a known child of Colonel Robert Bolling, II - died young - perhaps named for grandmother, Elizabeth Cocke
