Lachlan Maclean of Calchylie, 1663-1671
Murdoch Maclean of Lochbuie is thought to have died in 1662 or 1663, and to have left no children. His father Hector Odhar Maclean 9th of Lochbuie and Sir Lachlan Mor of Duart's only daughter Beathag, however, had a second son named Lachlan, who succeeded his brother.
Lachlan was born in 1614 and was fostered by his paternal uncle Allan Maclean of Pennygoun and his wife Geillzeane Maclean.
