Profiles Mentioned:

The query results, record summaries, and citations in the "Massachusetts, Town Clerk, Vital and Town Records," 1626-2001, database of Family Search INCORRECTLY refers to Solomon as "Solomon Ensign Holman," for the records of 7 of his children. However, the actual record (i.e., film) CORRECTLY refers to him as "Ensign Solomon Holman"
However, ENSIGN IS NOT HIS NAME. Ensign is the officer's rank he held while in the Colonial Service. Ensign was probably used to distinguish him from his father.whom also lived in Sutton at the time.
