In 1764, by and through the Tuscarora Chief William Pugh and Chief James Blount, certain paternal ancestors; John Braveboy, David Braveboy, Joshua Braveboy, John Locklear, and Major Locklear with their families secured adjoining lands to their Tuscarora Chiefs Pugh and Blount's land in Back Swamp, Saddle Tree, Drowning Creek and Flowers Swamp in Robeson County, North Carolina.
