The most compelling evidence that Jan JACOBSZ and Lea BOSHOFF were married, is the Christening entry for their son, Willem Hendrik. 1) the Father is given as JAN JACOBSZ not Johannes Jacobs. 2) The wirnesses includes Johannes Jacobus JACOBSZ, Jan's oldest son, and Margaretha Alida JACOBSZ, Jans oldest daughter - All spelled JACOBSZ.

We noticed that you made a change to the marriage of Jan Jacobsz and Lea Boshoff. We have researched this union exhaustively and can confirm that Jan JACOBSZ and Lea Boshoff were indeed married. She was not married to Johannes Jacobs.

It is also confirmed in the source "Ou Kaapse Families" and the GISA register of Cape Families.

If you review their son Willem Hendrik's christening you will see the correct linkage. In addition, Lea Boshoff acted as a witness at several of Jan Jacobsz' grandchildren's christenings with Jan Jacobsz. Furthermore, Willem Hendrik acted as witness at several christenings of JACOBSZ children through the years. Several members of the JACOBSZ family settled in the Winburg District in the late 1830's and early 1840's, including Jan Jacobsz and Lea Boshoff's son Willem Hendrik. If you study the entanglement between Lea Boshoff, Willem Hendrik, and various other members of the Jacobsz family over a 40-year period, from 1801 to about 1840, as we have done, you cannot come to any other conclusion. There is a wealth of documentary evidence to support this view. If you still have doubts, please let us know so that we can collect the documentary evidence for you.
