Working on the assumption that there aren't too many William Maddern + Eliza Maddern combos, I looked up FreeReg:

Notably, This states that William (that married Eliza Robinson) was born c.1816 (Aged 28 in '44) and his father was John Maddern
Also, that Eliza was 23 in '44 so born circa 1821

There may be a possibility that this is the wrong William and Eliza combo, too.

I am suitably convinced that the current record for this William is incorrect.

I know the other William exists on Geni already, Too.
