This might be easier to access.

I'm not sure why you called me here Phillip, or why I was moved to put a Curator Note on this guy - and I hope it doesn't seem callous- but I can't say that I think it's a huge loss to humankind if we execute people who rape animals.

:-)

Interest is the arguements in the case of race could have been part of the decisions and misunderstandings.
When looked at the case from a more modern perspective.
Also his family from a GENI / Genealogical point.

Sharon -- Zeus ?
Europa ,Leda ?
What does that say ?

Susan Newton King - her arguements and views of how this reflects on race and social status at the time.

The interesting and informative part is beyond the most obvious shock first glance.

Plus : I am not convinced after reading all of this that GJ Coetzee was definitely guilty.
A brilliant wriiten perspective of human interaction at the time at Cape of Good Hope.
Worth reading not just a perverse account of bestiality.

I'm also opposed to gods raping people, posing as animals or otherwise - if that helps.

I'll read the article when I get a mo.

If you keep reading past the salacious details - it's excellent. Thanks for the alert.

Knew you would appreciate it.

:-) I just forgot to come back to it to finish reading - my husband was dying at the time.

My belated condolences Sharon.

Thanks
