Denis James McDougall
Born: November 30, 1953 Died: June 20, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denis James McDougall after a 4-year battle with health issues. Denis fought hard to live so that he could see his grandchildren grow, and spend time with all of his children and grandchildren; including those he “adopted” into the family. He passed away peacefully in his Calgary home surrounded by his family. He is the father of 6 children, grandfather to 4 granddaughters, 1 soon to be born granddaughter, and two grandsons. He is survived by his ex-wives Debra Scott and Cherylann Holtz; his children, Scott (Jodie), Neil (Susan), James (Melissa) Dylan (Heather), Robert (Vanessa), Elizabeth (Darryl); his grandchildren, Erik, Alex, Anna, Serenity, Ripply, and soon to be born, Ophelia.
Denis was born in Ottawa, Ontario and lived most of his life in Calgary, Alberta. From 2002-2017, Denis worked for CANA Construction receiving many certificates including, but not limited to: Journeyman, MENSA, Gold Seal (2010), NCSO, and many, many more. He was amazing at what he did and worked his way up to being Superintendent at CANA. Denis was extremely proud of himself with every certificate and milestone he reached in life.
Denis loved his family more than anything in the world and would do anything for them. He has always been so proud of his children and who they have become, especially watching them get married to the loves of their lives. Saturdays were always a hang out and have fun day and Sundays were always reserved for family dinners which he absolutely loved. He was an amazing man who was hardworking, loving, funny, carefree, gentle, respected and respectful, knew how to have fun, yet also knew how to be serious. Denis was also very much a child at heart with his love for monster models, holding many awards for contests for best models. With his biggest achievement being Gorgos Gasser.
