I was trying to find documentation for this Mary being the daughter of Mahayough, because the maiden name Major seemed odd to me given who her parents were.

All I could really find was

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tomocomo-1

which lists her maiden name as Tomocomo ratther than Major, which makes more sense to me since she was a descendant of Uttamatomakkin "Tomocomo".

and the Wiki page lists her ancestry as:

Father Kee Est TA KA Tomocomo apt 1685 (Geni shows him as Yau-Na-Hah)

Grandfather Nee Mo HA MAC Tomocomo apt 1640 (Geni shows him as Mahayough)
his son

Great grandparents Kiwokos Uttamattomakkin Tomocomo apt 1580 Princess Matachanna Powhatan apt 1587 Werowocomoco, Orapax,VA apt 1641 Henrico, VA. d/o Chief Wahunsenacawh Powhatan

The names of her father and grandfather are different but they still lead back to Uttamattomakkin Tomocomo and all are using Tomocomo as the family name.

She also has a Find-a-Grave page. Her dates are different than on Geni.

The information on Wiki for her husband: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Costello-1462

His Find-a-Grave page: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/64131800/robert-costello

There are no notes or sources at all in the profiles for this Mary, her father, and her grandfather. So the info on Wiki and Find-a-Grave at least has more information to validate the lines.

Just thought I'd share because it's really challenging to validate Native American lineage without some sourced information and when there are no notes or sources in the profiles, the connections can seem sketchy.

Since there are some differences in the names for her father and grandfather, that may need further research but at least the links I've share have more information to work from.
