Removed the dates. Some operate with around 1700 as birth year instead of 1663 as Märt Toompalu claimed in his previous update.
Sources from this period is usually just telling relationships, not dates, often without names on the mothers.
Hi,
The following farm books have information about her:
1. Ulvik : gards- og ættesoga. 2 : Gards- og ættesoga Syse-Vallavik (https://www.nb.no/items/URN:NBN:no-nb_digibok_2011102608052?searchT...) og
2. Ulvik gards- og ættesoga 1 Almennsoga og ein del gards- og ættesoga (https://www.nb.no/items/URN:NBN:no-nb_digibok_2012080925001?page=473)
They have her first marriage in 1705 and the second marriage in 1719. I found the church record for the latter for 6. February 1720 (https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20070523610676).
Her last daughter Sigrid was born in 1736 according to the farm books. Unfortunately, the relevant church books are not available, but her age given in the census data for 1801 matches 1736 as her year of birth (https://www.digitalarkivet.no/census/person/pf01058377002098).
If these records are correct Eli must have been born around 1690. This would make her rather young when she first married and had her first child but 46 when she had her last. I don't think she could have been much older when she gave birth. Do you agree?
There were not many girls named Eli in the area for that period but I have found a possible baptism record for 1691 with a father named Ola that could match.

She would have been 14/15 years old at the time of her first marriage. That is rather young,
Thoughts?
We could have a mix of two Eli Olsdatter here. We should consider having two Eli Olsdatter with a husband each.
Her first marriage: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/view/325/hv00000000373405
The second marriage you found should have stated that she was a widow if it was the same Eli.
Please note that we should consider removing the fabricated/false family names from the Geni profiles. The marriage states clearly that his name was Colben Olsen, not Kolbein Ringøy and women did not take the husbands names at that time - that started 200 years later.
Yes, I also wondered if perhaps the farm books were wrong and we have two different Eli here. They must have got the information from somewhere though. She lived at Hetlenes when she got married to Ola Gunnarsson which is where Kolbein Olsson came from so that fits.
I agree about the use of patronyms but as far as I understand from the digital archive forums the suggested naming convention is to use the local name (ie as in common use in the area, hence Kolbein Olsson). I Look to the farm books for the common name.
Some also suggested adding the name of the farm where they were born. In this case that should be Hetlenes and not Ringøy. I have no idea where they got Ringøy from. Having the farm name does help to identify the person, especially where the names are common.
The naming of people in GENi (and on other platforms too) seems to be a real mess. It would be useful if we could come to some sort of agreement between ourselves for use with our family at least. What are your views?
Genealogically names at birth are used as a persons main name. All other names used later in life are secondary to the name at birth.
Generally in the genealogical databases/-programsthe lastname at birth are written in the lastname field and all first (and middle-) names are written in the firstname field. All names used later in life should genealogically be written in the Also known as field on Geni.
In any case both Hetlenes and Ringøy is fabricated names as long as you don't find them used as names in primary sources. Before the time of computers where you have fields for residence bygdebok authors and old scholar genealogists used farm names to keep track of families and this has spread as a virus as false information,
People were often referred to by the farm names where they lived.
