My name is Svetlana Savasteeva. I live in Moscow, Russia. I'm looking for information about my grandfather's older brother. His name was Ivan Vasilyevich Sheverdyaev (JAAN LOIT Vassili p). He was born on January 02/14, 1914 in the city of Ruza, Moscow region.
On September 2, 1938, JAAN LOIT married Erika Rattasepp.
On March 28, 1942, Anna Loit was born in Tallinn, the daughter of Jaan and Erika Loit.
JAAN LOIT died on 31.01.1992 in Tallinn.
Our family did not know that he was alive, he visited his sisters and brother in the 1940s, after which he disappeared, and everyone thought that he had gone to Sweden with his family.
The Estonian Rakveres archive has a personal file on JAAN LOIT Vassili p (LVMA.V-80.6 k.138) from 1952, but it can be ordered by providing a letter of permission to Anna Loit, Jaan's daughter. My kinship is very distant for them. I would like to find out more information about how the fate of Jaan and Anna turned out.
