Abraham Helton - For Abraham Helton lineage

The name Creebeck that is shown in several individuals names was from Lithfuss Orlefus Creebeck name He adopted the given name of Thomas and took his wife's surname of Helton. Elizabeth (Bettie) did not have Creebeck as a middle name and neither did her father Beecham.

Elizabeth (Bettie) Helton was the daughter of Beecham Helton and Susan Winkler. Susan Winkler was born about 1705 and was a Cherokee named So Wa Tsi that was raised by the Winkler family.

I had a letter or a statement from Bettie Helton that her was father accepted her marriage to a Cherokee that was younger than her since her mother was also full Cherokee. Unfortunately I am missing this reference due to moving to a different ancestry program. Still trying to relocate.

Another problem is Thomas Helton's age. Several trees show him living well past 100 years. His son, also a Thomas who inherited his farm, so property records show the owner as Thomas Helton with no break. I have no exact death date, but likely when he was 70 to 80 years of age.

I am happy to see you have taken over management of these profiles. I was very upset when several changes were made last August that were incorrect. Abraham's name was changed as were his parents and the entire tree was obliterated. The individual who made those changes basically threatened me when I tried correcting the changes. Because of this I had given up on trying to use Geni.com. There still needs to be a bit more control over merges.
