Following back from my great grandfather Hiram T. Houghton of Barnes Warren Co. Pa. I find a link to this Robert Houghton.
When I try linking from the Houghton of "Houghton Tower" near Lancastershire England from the 1100's to 1620's I find some challenges to the links.
So I am trying to follow back to England from the Lancaster Mass village where the Houghton were prominent.
My source was the pamphlet on the Houghton Family history which I found online.

I’m pretty sure it’s a brick wall from the Houghtons of Lancaster MA back to England. Have you looked at Dr Vella’s Houghton database?

Thanks Erica, I had seen that "brick wall" and it took the wind out of my sails. That is a nice story going back to William the Conqueror and the Houghton Tower.
