The wife of Jacob Kaufman of Tilden Township, Berks county, Pennsylvania is Anna Maria Himmelberger, daughter of George Himmelberger of Schriesheim, Germany.

1. George Himmelberger of Schriedheim and his wife, Anna Catherine Mack had a daughter Anna Maria born on Jan 26, 1724. Jacob Kaufman was born about 1722.

2. Anna Maria had a brother, Valentine, born Nov. 22, 1709. and a brother George born in 1715.
3. Valentine Himmelberger lived in close proximity to Jacob Kaufman in Berks County and their lives were intertwined as indicated in legal documents. John Schock who administrated Jacob Kaufman’s will was married to a Himmelberger who was a daughter of Valentine. Jacob Kaufman also gave water rights to John Schock.

4. Jacob Kaufman is the emigrant on the ship “Patience” in 1749, This based upon the similarity of his signature on the ship list with that on his will. On the ship list he is next to George Himmelberger who could be Valentine’s father or his younger brother who was born in 1725.

5. Jacob’s children have the names, Valentine, George, and Philip which are found in the Himmelberger family and which are not very common in other German families.

6. About 1780 Valentine Himmelberger’s son, Ulrich went to Kentucky with Jacob and Christian Kaufman and warranted land together. There probably was a close relationship between them.

Conclusion: Anna Maria Himmelberger, daughter of George Himmelberger and Anna Catherine Mack is the wife of Jacob Kaufman.
