Emma Redman born 1861 is on Geni with

She cannot be their daughter as in 1861

Emma was born in 1861 In England, she married in England and died in England

So, you did not read my notes in emmas profile?

Private User could you please explain how it is physically possible for a child to be born in 1861 in England to 2 people who were living with other people in Australia?

well thats what i was trying to work out Leanne. but did you read the sources, i asked previously,

i had left her there to try and work it out, its not something i had neglected to see, but you decided to detach her before i could even begin to work it out. or why there are two people with the same name, with different mothers.

did you do any further research on her?, was she left behind or adopted out?, do you know anything ?

perhaps you can enlighten me Leanne

Her parents were in Australia when she was born in England. She is not their child.

Certainly seems physically impossible.

yes it is, but then go back to A Emma who was born at some time with ann cox as mother and her father Redman, so work out where she belongs ,and her Real DOB then :)

Leanne, what is your interest in the cox and redman family?

I noticed you MP ed ann is there something very special about her to you?

Angelina, you have added the profile for Emma and on her profile you have provided contradictory information for her

  • George WILSON married 1895 - possible spouses Jesse HALSTEAD / Clara HAM / Emma REDMAN
  • Emma REDMAN born 14/4/1861 England died 1948 England - father Alfred REDMAN born 1829 mother Anne PENNINGTON 1826
  • Emma REDAN born April 1861 England died 1948 England - father Alfred REDMAN 1829-1909 mother Ann Catherine COX 1843-1923

I have provided sources showing that Ann Catherine Dunham - Redman, Free Settler “Tradewinds” 1858 was in Australia on 2 March 1859 (marriage), 18 August 1860 (birth of twins), 23 June 1862 (birth of son).

For Ann to have given birth to Emma she needed

  • to conceive Emma to another man within days of giving birth to twins to her husband in Australia (born 18/8/1860)
  • then travelled to England to have a child on 14/4/1861 (that survived despite being born only 34 weeks after the twins)
  • then she had to have travelled back to Australia by the end of September 1860 in order to conceive her next child with her husband (born 23/6/1862). (leaving Emma behind)

I have provided the following sources to prove that the suggested parents were in Australia during this time (attached to the relevant profiles)

  • 1859-03-02 John DUNHAM age 38 married Ann COX - Brighton, Tasmania, Australia
  • 1860-08-18 twins Charles Cox DUNHAM and James DUNHAM born in Delorane, Tasmania, Australia to John DUNHAM and Anne COX

If you honestly believe that Emma is the daughter of Alfred Redman and Ann Catherine Dunham - Redman, Free Settler “Tradewinds” 1858 then you need to provide sources to prove this connection.

If you can provide sources to prove this then I will gladly reattach her.

My word Leanne, you are out of hand dear, as i explained previous to your ranting, that i placed her there for a reason, i am not going to keep repeating myself , as to dates, they are the dates i found, so i placed them into emmas profile, which you decided apon yourself to detach her, It was MY Project NOT Yours to push yourself into, you keep asking questions on profiles, but rarely tag the people who actually make the profiles, so they have no idea that you have made an attempt to discuss the problems, instead you go in doing things with out any discussion from the managers. I do not find this a helpful resolution at all Leanne!!, and you also took away my project on finding out where Emma truly belonged, the sources i provided are actual sources available on family search. I would have appreciated being tagged, and be able to explain why she was there, and what MY future plans were .

Angelina my comments above are not a rant - they are sources and an explanation.

I am not going to continue to be insulted and accused by you - when you are willing or able to provide sources that prove she is the daughter of these 2 profiles I will happily review them but until such time I will not continue this discussion.

It is you who keeps insulting me Leanne, How have i Insulted you?, i have done nothing but ask you questions, to which you have NO answers to what so ever, and keep refering me to report you, How Insulting is that?, You have insulted me, by telling me "How on earth this emma is can be related to the parents, when i keep explaining to you, she was there for a reason, yet you belittle my intelligence and keep insulting me, by ignoring my requests for information, and making me look as though i have a problem with you, I think it is You Lanne that insults me..

Private User there seems to be agreement that Emma Rodman was born in 1861 in Yorkshire.

The parents that you had attached her to, Alfred Redman and Ann Dunham Redman, were both from England, one from Leeds and one from Lancashire, and married in Tasmania in 1858.

Unless we are to suppose that they travelled back to England, had Emma in 1861, and then went back to Tasmania, the connection makes no sense.

The Emma Redman who was born in 1861 in Yorkshire was living in Yorkshire with her parents Alfred Redman and Ann Pennington Redman in 1871. Here’s the link to the census (it’s in Ancestry): https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/7619/images/WRYRG1...

Both Alfred Redman and Emma Redman were from Yorkshire, where there was a large number of Redman families at the time (Ann was from nearby Lancashire). It’s of course highly likely that they were at least distant cousins. But give the information that we currently have, they can not have been father and daughter. Emma’s father was a different Alfred Redman.

Private User -- I'm not sure I'm understanding this, but are you saying that you created a profile and put it in a place that you're not sure it belongs?

If so, please don't do that.

When we work out where profiles belong, in our own programs or notes, then they can go into the World Tree.

But as you can see, it's very confusing when profiles get put into the Tree where they can't belong.

The weird thing is no one actually cared about those profiles, until i started adding to them,

Now i have 3 Curators ganging up on me,

, but finally you understood why after all of that, its fine Anne, i was minding my own business, trying to work it out, then suddenly it was overtaken , and a Huge whirlwind storm errupted out of nowhere, and i was really sick and tired of explaining , but no i wont be doing it again,

I did have NOTES inside of the profile to explain why it was there Yes

thanks for finally being some one who actually listened .Anne, and i will take your advice . :)
