Somebody slap-jammed a whole bunch of Maddoxes together, at least some of whom clearly do not belong.
This John Maddox was probably *not* from Llanfrynach, Wales, and was probably *not* born in 1620 (he was probably older). Please note that his assigned father was a Londoner (Bermondsey, Southwark, London).
Benjamin Maddox is "origin unknown".
Dr. Edward Maddox was credibly traced to Munslow, Shropshire, England (Shropshire being just east of Wales).
Dr. Rice Maddox is "origin unknown".
Ann Maddox is "origin unknown".
Alexander Maddox is another Londoner (Bermondsey, Southwark, London).
Neomy Maddox (note: NOT found in Miles Files!) allegedly born "1614 Virginia"(!)
Henry Maddox allegedly born "1616 Virginia"(!) (Not n MilesFiles either.)
Mary Maddox allegedly born "circa 1616, York County, Virginia - which did not at that time exist). (MilesFiles does have a Mary Maddox, born c. 1625, who married a James Frisby circa 1645, had a son William, and may have lived in Kent County, Maryland, as William certainly did - but the above is all there is about her.).
It should be blindingly obvious that these people cannot possibly all be children of the same parents.
Thomas Maddox (father of the above John) has either gotten mis-fathered again, or mis-merged with the "real" Thomas Maddox of Scethrog. He was christened in London (Bermondsey, Borough of Southwark, Surrey, Greater London, England) in 1590, and his father's name was JOHN. Not "Morgan".
And then we get to Samuel Maddox I just stripped him of a bogus knighthood/baronetcy (he neither had nor used any such title).
He has two wives, one of whom has a middle name - very NOT 17th century usage; her *parents* also have middle names (this is even less a Tudor usage); and so on and so forth back to when middle names were flat IMPOSSIBLE.
@ sorry, I didn't see this till after. I was saying up above that my Grandmother was a Maddock. I find that many people when they came to America changed the spelling of their last names and it makes it hard to find people. There are many people with the same names, not all are related as I found. My father who was named George Wilburn Black II also has many people named Black who get mixed up with other Black names. It is a mess, but I found out the ones who weren't my father or my grandfather turned out to be cousins. It seems we are all related and I mean everyone. I have 15 thousand and something in my tree and sometimes end up with several of the same names because when doing a match they all go into my tree. I have to find them and delete them. Not all is at it seems, we were all from over there somewhere and not all came to America.
I HAVE CHECKED ALL OF THE MADDOCKS, MADDOX, AND IN DIFFERENT WAYS BEFORE I EVER ADD THEM TO MY PAGES. THERE ARE SUPPOSEDLY MADDOX OR MADDOCKS IN ENGLAND AND MANY FROM IRELAND, WHAT THE ONES DON'T REALISE IN ENGLAND, PEOPLE DO MOVE. I FOUND THEM IN ALL DIFFERENT AREAS. THEY ARE MY FAMILY AND OF COURSE, I WANT IT CORRECT.
SORRY, I EITHER DO IT IN CAPS OR CAN'T DO, IT BECAUSE MY COMPUTER WON'T LET ME CHANGE THE SIZE. I AM NOT BEING RUDE, BUT YOU ARE. IF YOU CAN'T READ MAYBE IT IS BETTER FOR YOU. A LOT OF MY FAMILY ARE MADDOCK AND THERE ARE DIFFERENT ONES THAT CHANGE IT WHEN THEY COME OVER. I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THEY DO GIVE PEOPLE THAT RIGHT WHEN THEY FIRST COME TO AMERICA. AT LEAST THEY USED TO. IT ONLY MAKES IT HARDER TO FIND RELATIVES. IN ROOT ON FAMILY SEARCH I HAD OVER 49K ALMOST 50K COUSINS, UNCLES, AUNTS, AND MORE. WHEN I CHECK THE DIFFERENT SPELLED ONES SOME COME UP AS RELATED AND SOME DO NOT. I HAVE ASKED PEOPLE TO NOT ASK THAT MY TREE BE MADE INTO A MASTER PROFILE, PLEASE DON'T DISREGARD MY WISHES AGAIN.
