Hello fellow-researchers,

I'm wondering if any of you can point me to an index of BDM information for northern Moravia in the range 1710 to 1725.

This is to resolve a conflict in date of birth after a merge:
https://www.geni.com/merge/resolve/6000000038045538870

The main profile is of David Heckewelder (David Heckewelder)

He is the fifth great grandfather of a colleague in the Clan Henderson Society, Karen Bunning
(Private User)

I'll suggest that she join the project.

Regards,
Jim

I found quite a lot of information in a book I saw at the Archives in Herrnhut, Germany. It is in German and is titled: Chronik der Marktgemeinde Zauchtel a.d. Oder. It has David Heckewelder born 25 May 1711 and died 11 Sept. 1760.

A Moravian diary or history of the St. John Mission 1758-1768 mentions the death of David Heckewaelder: "The missionary David Heckewaelder, who administered the missions after Georg Weber's recall, came to the end of his days at the age of forty-nine during a visit to St. John on September 11, 1760. In the twentieth year of his life, he had left his birthplace, Zauchenthal in Moravia, and come to Herrnhut." This also would make his year of birth 1711.
