Thank you Maven, I will check again,
It was I who merged duplicate profiles for Godefroi IV, this was not a mix up as you can see here: https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=80065731960
Godefroi still has a bastard half brother here: Geoffroi de Boulogne, bâtard, seignuer de Carshalton, Cambridgeshire, Coton-Manor although he may have a somewhat different but historically more accurate name.
I cleared data conflicts and resolved tree conflicts after the merge as were identified by the Geni system. When I come across things like this I clarify. Godefroi was being named Bouillon. That’s a nick name based on the name of his castle. His titles were confusing so I clarified te display name. The half brother is illegitimate so, as does Etienne Pattou, I tagged him with batard de Boulogne to accurately reflect this. Bottom line is the merge was good and both profiles exist in the correct frame of reference.
Geoffroi de Boulogne, bâtard, seignuer de Carshalton married Beatrix de Mandeville and had two children by her, he also had a third illegitimate child from a liaison with “puella” (that girl) NN, lady-in-waiting to Adelisa de Clermont who may have been a relative. J.H. Round discusses this here: Faramus of Boulogne, J. H. Round
https://fmg.ac/phocadownload/userupload/scanned-sources/tgb/Vol12-P... and Etienne Pattou uses these terms.
This was a case of research informing research. I’m collaborating with Carl, he’s interested in the family Bois, which is connected to de Fiennes. I started down the branch of de Fiennes and when I got to Enguerrand I de Fiennes, seigneur de Fiennes, lord of Martock I wondered how he acquired the title Lord of Martock in England and had a wife named Sibylle de Tingry. Turns out she is Sibylle de Boulogne dame de Tingry who brought Martock to him, so it turns out he is lord jure uxoris. BHO discusses the descendency of the manor of Martock within the family Boulogne, who actually did not have seisen until the William son of Sibylle. So then how did a wife born in France own land in England... This is what’s fun but it turned out that the tree on Geni back up the Boulogne’s was a little incorrect and incomplete. This is just how I think...
When I visit a branch I add siblings even though I might not have anything more than a name because collaboration can’t work if there is nothing to work with. It also helps with so and so was married to an unnamed daughter of...now there’s a connection that can be built on.
I think everything is now correct but am always willing to discuss. The whole issue here as I see it is Livio simply has a sense of misplaced ownership of profiles he manages and his unwillingness to accept that those profiles might be improved is both argumentative and unbearable. For a user to reverse curator changes surreptitiously, without offering either discussion or documentation to support his position is not how this platform works. This isn’t the first time this has happened and he has previously had a management warning regarding his tone.
But he has responded so I guess one more time I’ll try to work through it with him.
