I have new information that I've received from Harkerode Church records regarding the birth and baptism dates of the Gericke stamvader. Please see my notes under "About" on his profile.

I believe that these are reliable new information and should be addedto his master profile. It also makes the information put up by ds. Müller rediculous ( the marriage to the Heinrichsdorffin lady) It implies that the stamvader was married and already had 1 child by the age of 16!! That lady married Gottfried Göricke and their children were baptised in Berlin, a bit far from Harkerode. So, how she and the stamvader, Johann Gottfried Gericke from Harkerode were together, I simply do not understand.

I'll appreciate some more input. I mean, to my mind only one Gerber wife, no Jurgens illegit daughter (who was baptised 1772 and stamvader arrived in SA in 1773!) and forsaken wife in Germany.

Dear All

Could we remove the 2nd incorrect wife please, i.e. (the marriage to the Heinrichsdorffin lady)?

I have not done any research on the Gerickes and concur with all the research you have done. My link to this family is Johan Gottfried Gericke and Anna Barbara Gerber's son Hendrik Sebastiaan Gericke who married Sophia Wilhelmina Maria de Swardt. Their line leads to my Grandfather Hendrik Sebastian Kriek.

Thanks for all the research

Dankie vir die werk gedoen, Yvonne.
Ek vermoed dat daar nog heelwat informasie beskikbaar kan kom uit die Harkerode/Ascherleben/Magdeburg kerk argiewe kom.

Thank you for the work done, Yvonne.
I suspect that there is still a lot of information available from the Harkerode / Ascherleben / Magdeburg church archives.
