Hello
I am trying to find records for my great grand-father, we have date 10 June 1879 but I suspect the year isn't right (the whole family changed their dates when they moved to france), in Podolsk, Ukraine. His father was Patap Kvashuk and his mother Maria Stepanov (according to French records, so again could be wrong).
In 1903, he lived in St-Peterburg and worked at the Tauride Palace and his address is listed as the Green House

In 1904 his address was 49 Sredny Ave of Vasilyevsky Island. https://vivaldi.nlr.ru/bx000020066/view/#page=1132
I know he is married in 1907, but not sure exactly when he gets married to Anna Kaisa/ Katrina Olavi romppanen, born in Kontiolahti, Finland, in may 1864.
They had a son called Leo, supposedly born in 1904, but again this might be wrong, And maybe this was a son from a previous marriage, it's hard to tell.
They adopted, I don't know how officially, my grand-mother Tyyne Eliisa Romppane born 18.9.1910 in Juuka, Finland, she was Anna Kaia's niece.
They left for Estonia over night when the soviet got in, so I imagine in about 1920, and then they are in France in 1930, but I have no details about anything else.
I would love to find more information about Alexandre and his family
So with the birthplace "Podolsk", I can only find the place Kamjanez-Podilskyj,Кам'янець-Подільський, Oblast Khmelnytskyj, Ukraine.
I also checked the "family name" once and find only ONE Kvashuk near Kishinev. The place is now in Moldova. There is also a patronymic Artemonov (son of Artemon) in the entry, which brings me to the next topic. If he was Russian/Ukrainian, then you won't get anywhere with the name Kvashuk, because fixed family names were only introduced after the Soviets.
The remaining Kvashuk are all shown for USA, so will be a self-chosen family name after emigration. My theory.
Otherwise, the search query on Ancestry with the Cyrillic spelling Квашук resulted in at least one Ukrainian family tree, the user melnyk_mariya99.
