There is only one recorded child of Antonius Kumarić and Katarina Sandalj in Lovran baptism book, that of Matthea Josepha 25 Feb 1754 (who died immediately after birth). No Antonius Kumarić was born in Lovran between 1730 and 1830. What is your source for this person?

Surname Paurić does not appear in Lovran at all between 1730 and 1900. Where is this person from?

Thank you for your reply. I have seen a record of Andrea Kumaric`(record shows written as - Cumaric`) born in Lovran 1705 and he married Margarita Mrak c1730. From what I could understand from the records, they had a child baptised 14 January 1733 - Antonia Cumaric'. This was on Image 20 & 23 of page 261 in Lovran Church Records.
I could not find any records for names of parents (and their place and dates of birth) of Andrea Kumaric' was born or any other Kumaric/Cumaric' and the church records do not go much further back.
I am trying to find out how long the Kumaric' family line was in Lovran and where they might have come from before then. I have not checked Opatija church records yet.
Katarina Pauric' was born c1750 and was from Makarska. From what I understand, Ante Kumaric' (maybe born 1745?) travelled from Lovran to Hvar and to Sucuraj from 1796 and again in 1798 and 1799. Ante Kumaric' is described in the church records as Possidente - meaning a land owner and he was buried in Hvar.
I hope this information is useful and I look forward to hearing if you find out anything more.
Thank you.

Hi Katarina,

I have seen a record of Andrea Kumaric born in Lovran 1705 and he married Margarita Mrak c1730, they had a child baptised 14 January 1733 - Antonia Cumaric<<

If you are referring to Andreas Kumarić this is not a record, but somebody's guess.

You are correct in that Andreas Kumarić and Margarita Mrak did have 3 children in Lovran. But here we're talking about Ante (Antonius) Kumarić and Katarina Sandalj. These are entirely different people.

I have transcribed Lovran BMD book and also have copies of Status Animarum. Between 1730 and 1781 (a few birth records exist before 1730 but they are not complete) 21 people with surname Kumarić were born in Lovran.

The following families lived there:

Andreas + Margarita Mrak Antonius + Matthea Peršić
Antonius + Katarina Sandalj
Mathias (or Mattheus) + Antonia Peršić
There is also one child each of Antonius + Margarita, Antonius + Antonia, Mattheus + Katarina, Mattheus + Helena and Mattheus + Matthea (some of which may be erroneous).

The only Antonius was born 10 Jan 1764 to Mattheus + Antonia Peršić. Consequently it follows that Ante Kumarić could not have been born in Lovran. There is no trace of him in any of the books. I'm going to disconnect him from his parents Antonius and Katarina Sandalj.

A marriage record of Ante with Kate Paurić would help, if you can find it. I had a quick look at Makarska between 1768 and 1773 and didn't see it there.

The death record https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-L99X-5WWL?i=235&wc... mentions a local origin, not Lovran.

The surname Kumarić is by no means limited to Lovran, it can be found in Split and Hvar and possibly elsewhere.

Surname Paurić does not appear to be present on the Croatian coast at all - https://actacroatica.com/hr/surname/Pauri%C4%87/
