Is this photo actually a photograph of Mary "Polly" Quackenbush ?

I could be mistaken but I thought that portrait photography didn't start until around 1839 and Maria was born in 1776

What is the source for this being a photograph of Mary?

You must have the wrong Mary (Searles) Quackenbush. Her Name is Mary "Polly" (Searles) Quackenbush and she does not have a Photograph.
