Nathaniel and Elizabeth had 4 children: Robert Davis, ancestor of President Jefferson Davis who never publicly acknowledged his Indian heritage; Martha Davis who m. Abraham Venable; Abadiah (also called Abigail) Davis who m. William Floyd; Mary Davis who married Samuel Burks.

However, Martha Davis is seen in some sources as daughter of Robert Davis and Abadiah Lewis ... but, she’s not found as a child of his listed in his 1771 will.

If anyone knows anything differently about her origins, please provide evidence. Various studies have been attached to her profile as documentation, but primary evidence is skimpy.

I'm a descendant of Abraham and Martha Venable. Venable family records state she was the daughter of Nathaniel and Mary Elizabeth Hughes Davis. The family has said we have Native American ancestry through Martha Davis even when such a claim would not have been popular to do so.
