I created this profile based on the marriage certificate of Ida Caplan and Abraham Orvitz (https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000101284777060), which lists "name of bride's father" as Benjamin Caplan. But I am now concerned that I might have been confused at some point. There was a Benjamin Caplan who died in Toronto on 1919-DEC-31 (https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000174312599893), and a Benjamin Caplan who died in St. Catharines on 1967-NOV-27 (https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000174312720851). Both of them had a daughter named Freda, which is part of why I might be confused.
The Benjamin Caplan who died in 1967 had a son named Irving (aka Israel or Itz), who married Bernice Yalonetsky in 1950 (see https://newspapers.lib.sfu.ca/mcc-cjr-11260/page-10 [column 2] and http://jewishstcatharines.com/cemeterylinks/#C).
But the entry at FindAGrave (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/168100252/benjamin-caplan) suggests that the Benjamin Caplan who died on 1919-DEC-31 also had a son named Irving, who died in 1934 at age 27 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/168100251/irving-caplan).
