Nancy: I am interested to see that your identify the wife of Robert Galbraith (aka Galbreath) as Mary Jennet Weldin. , I see that there are earlier generations in Henrico and Middlesex Counties in Virginia who seem to display several intermarriages of the Weldin/Weldon family with the Almond family. Do you have any documentation that ties the Weldins of New Castle County with one or both of these Virginia counties? There do appear to be four brothers named Isaac, Joseph, Jacob and John Welden, all sons of Jacob Weldon and Mary Jane Sarah Almond, born in New Castle County. Father Jacob appears to have been born near Rockland Mill in New Castle County, Delaware about 1699, and died in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania (date not yet determined). Meanwhile their mother Mary Jane may be the Mary Almond who was baptized in Christ Church Parish, Middlesex County, Virginia on 9 June 1700. Unfortunately this Mary is the only member in the Almond family listed in this parish register from Christ Church, and unlike many other children -- including African American children -- her baptismal record does not include at least first names of their parents have you been able to dig deeper?.
I am interested because I am a descendant of roberth Galbraith and (Mary) Jennet Wedon through their daughter Isabella (born 1755).

researching Robert

Hi Warren, I wish I could say positively that Mary Jane Sarah Almond was the spouse of Jacob Weldin. I have not researched the Almond surname at all. My research has slowed down to just correcting what I have collected and researched over the past 40 years. I am also a descendant of Robert Galbraith and Mary Jennet Weldin through their daughter Mary who married John Boughman. Have you taken a DNA test. My number on Gedmatch is A433443 and on Family Tree: N179787. Also on Ancestry.com. My main family file is on Ancestry.com.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROMPT REPLY, NANCY. It seems that we are both at the same point in our familyhistory journeys. I have been working on my history and my wife's history for 40years and in the process of translating data into stories and narraives for my children and grandchildren. along the way my patrnal grandmother's family which maintains a family graveyard in Cecil County that has burials back to at least 1769, asked me some questions about local famil burials that I could not answer. My grandmother and grandfather worked on their "trees " back in the 1930s and 1940s, but my grandmother was never able to trace Mary Robinson Burroughs becaue she never had physical access to collections in Wilmington DE. I have picked up that thread in recent months and that's what led me to Robert Galbreath and his wife. In the last ten days I have found a lot of circumstantial evidence on line at WikiTree and Geni.com that take this Weldin line back to Tidewater Virginia including samuel (aka Thomas) Almond who owned a pice of land just south of modern Richmond and was massacred by Native Americans in 1644. If you work that line you get back to an Elizabeth Weldin who ame from Sussex England. Yes that's right. The two families were married, then diverged, then married again in New Castle County DE. I am trying to figure all of that out and determine what the original sources were.
If I find out, I will let you know. I wil add your ancestor Mary and her husband John Boughman to my data. I now I saw the Boughman surname online in the last few days.
Yes I took a DNA test with 23andMe last ea and have been intending to send in a sample to Ancestry. I hve not posted either result to Gedmatch.
I hae never posted my trees (five of them -- paternal grandfather, paternal grandmother, maternal grandparents, wife's paternal family and wife's maternal family) on line becaue I don't want anyone monkeying with them. But I am glad to share what I have with others directly.
In your care it would be my Patterson-Hasson tree from Cecil County, Maryland. In some places I am able to go back 12 or more generations/
