Can someone clarify how it is that Rabbi Moshe Ben Yitzhak HaCohen Bunems Meisels was a Kohen, but neither his father or paternal grandfather are identified as Kohanim, and only one of his sons are??
My 3rd great grandfather father was Avraham Tzvi haKohen Meisels and I am trying to trace back to Meisels Kohanim in the 1600s.
