The info is a bit different on the two same-name fathers, so I don't know which one is correct. Hoping the creator or a profile manager can sort them and fix her connections. Thanks.

I have no clear proof but James John Ivey appears to be the described “Mulatto” who was know as Captain James Ivey due to his leading “the mob.” Records appear to support his being the father of Sarah Ivey and husband of Mourning Driggers. These two James Ivey’s are likely the same.

Thanks, Rick. I know the Driggers line had mulatto in it, so that makes sense.

Looks like you and I share at least one relative match somewhere along the way.

KK114706C1 Chromosome 3 & 7 cm 16.9 each.

My son is a Shirley descendant on his patenral side. Geni shows you and me as distant cousins with Strickland being the common ancestor. :)

Sorry, just saw your message. Do you have Davenport in your tree?

Rick, I have a 5th ggf:

Charles Davenport

1778–
BIRTH 1778 • Ratcliffe, Lancaster, Lancashire, England
DEATH South Carolina, Colonial America

I haven't traced his line back any farther yet.
