Details: Intelligence of the death of Captain Furlong reached Sydney yesterday. He had recently been appointed a Receiver of Royalties at the Quartz Crushing Establishment on the Louisa, and was residing in that neighbourhood. On Friday morning last his son, who was residing with him, went into his room, and found him lying insensible, apparently in a fit. He slightly rallied afterwards, but expired in two or three hours. He has left a widow and family, with but very slight means for their support
